Chennai, formerly known as Madras, this 369-year-old city is the capital of the southern state of Tamil Nadu and is India's sixth-largest city in terms of population with an estimated population of 7.45 million (2005). It serves as one of the main gateways to South India and has a thriving local culture and art scene and is one of the major destinations for medical tourism. It is considered as one of the world's fastest growing cities although ranks 13th in terms of cleanliness. It is on the Coromandel coast of the Bay of Bengal and has the second longest beachfront of any municipality in the world.

On arrival meeting, assistance at airport by our representative and transfer to hotel. Where our executive will explain the travel plan in detail and hand over the essential documents (Tour programme, hotel's vouchers, feedback report etc) to you. Rest of the day free for leisure activities. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Chennai - (86 kms ) Kirikili Bird Sanctuary - Crocodile Farm - Chennai
An early morning at 0500 hrs drive to visit Kirikili Bird Sanctuary. Kirikili Bird Sanctuary Located about 86 KM from Chennai this is one of the most tranquil and beautiful place near Chennai. Spread over 61.21 ha, this comprises of two rain fed irrigation tanks. The water enriched by bird droppings results in increased yield. Beginning with the open billed storks, the birds start arriving in Sept-Oct. Karikkili is a haven for ducks and waders. Pintailed ducks, Garganey teals, common teals, Shovellor, Little Grebe or Dab chick, Herons and Egrets are the other avian visitors. 

Later return back Chennai on the way visit The Crocodile Bank trust and Centre for Herpetology is one of the largest reptile zoos in the world. It is spread over eight and a half acres of land and is home to over 2500 reptiles. There is an opportunity to have an interactive experience with the various denizens at the zoo.  For outdoor nature enthusiasts, the spacious Croc Bank grounds are covered by luxuriant coastal dune forest and provide a haven for native wildlife, including large breeding colonies of water birds and a secure nesting beach for Olive Ridley Sea Turtles.

An early morning transfer to railways station to board to train Mysore. On arrival meeting assistance by our local representative and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free to exoplore local markets. Overnight at hotel.

w3infotekDay 04: Mysore - Ranganthittu bird Sanctuary (50 kms ) - Nagarhole National Park (92 kms )
An early morning at 0500 hrs drive to visit Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary – the sanctuary was declared in 1940, at the behest of Salim Ali, father of Indian Ornithology after princely state of Mysore birds’ survey Ranganathittu is a cluster of six islands and one main island formed by the weir across the Kaveri probably in 1640s.  The river is quite slow flowing within the sanctuary, with many secluded waterways where it is almost attains stillness, providing just right type of habitat for birds to nest in colonies.

Roughly around 170 birds have been recorded here in great numbers over the years. Of these, birds like Painted Stork, Asian Openbill Stork, Common Spoonbill, Woolly-necked Stork, Black-headed Ibis, Lesser Whistling Duck, Indian Shag, Stork-billed Kingfisher and other common birds like egrets, cormorants, Oriental Darter, and herons breed here regularly. The Great Stone Plover, and River Tern also nest here. The park is home to a large flock of Streak-throated Swallows. About 50 pelicans have made Ranganathittu as their permanent home.

imgLater continue drive to Nagarhole National Park. Nagarahole is named after Nagarahole a winding river which runs eastwards through its centre. Situated in the two districts of Mysore and Kodagu in the state of Karnataka. It was originally constituted into a sanctuary in the year 1955 covering an area of 258 sq. Kms and subsequently enlarged to include the adjoining areas of Mysore district and now extends over an area of 643.39 sq. kms which was given the status of a National Park in 1983. On arrival, check in at Jungle resort. Rest of the day free to enjoy various jungle activities available in Resort. Overnight at Resort.

After breakfast at hotel enjoy safari to explore wildlife inside the park. Later drive to Bandipur National Park. Bandipur National Park is regarded as one of the most beautiful and the better-managed national parks of India. Located amidst the picturesque surroundings of the towering Western Ghat Mountains on the Mysore-Ooty highway in Karnataka, Bandipur National Park covers an area of about 874.2 sq km. Together with Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala and Nagarhole National Park in the North, it creates the India's biggest biosphere reserve popularly known as the 'Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve'. The Bandipur National Park occupies a special place in India's efforts towards Eco-conservation. On arrival, check in at Jungle Resort. After breakfast at hotel drive to Kabini River lodge. Kabini - named after the river Kabini, the River Kabini Lodge beckons with the promise of elephants, gaur, deer and a rumour of tiger. Located on the southern fringes of the Nagarahole National Park (Rajiv Gandhi National Park), A sprawling colonial estate in the heart of elephant country, the river kabini Lodge echoes with the call of the wild. On arrival, check in at river lodge. Evening enjoy jungle safari & nature walk. Overnight at resort.

After breakfast at hotel drive to Dubare Elephant camp, Dubare Elephant camp is a project undertaken by forest department. This camp has plenty of elephants which are trained under naturalists a trained Naturalist is at hand to explain the various aspects of Elephant history, ecology and biology. The visitor can not only observe and learn but also participate in various activities involving Elephants. On arrival, check in at hotel. Later enjoy walk to dubare and hear the gurgling sound of Cauvery River. Evening enjoy various activities related to elephant. Overnight in Resort.

After breakfast at hotel drive to Mudumalai National Park. Madhumalai Wildlife Sanctuary & National Park is situated at the tri-junction of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka on the North Eastern slopes of the Nilgiris part of Western Ghats descending to the Mysore Plateau. An erstwhile game reserve, Mudumalai was declared a wildlife sanctuary with a 62 sq KM area in the early 1940 by the then Madras Presidency. With Bandipur Tiger Reserve (Karnataka) in the north, and Wynad Wildlife Sanctuary (Kerala) in the west the region forms a single, continuous viable habitat for a varied range of wildlife and is a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. w3infotekDay 12: Mudumalai - Annamalai Tiger Reserve (264 kms )

After breakfast at hotel drive to Annamalai Tiger Reserve. The Anamalai (Indira Gandhi) National Park is known for its wildlife and rich forest. It was earlier known as Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary. It is Tamil Nadu and covers an area of 117 Sq. km. It is part of a thick teak forest. This park has number of bird species to this wildlife reserve. Top slip is the focal point of this wildlife reserve. The park is rich in mixed deciduous forest with fair population of rosewood and tea. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day free for Jungle activities. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast at hotel enjoy Morning & evening safari to explore wildlife inside the park. Overnight at hotel.

Morning breakfast at hotel. Rest of the day free for leisure activites. In time transfer to Coimbatore airport to board on flight to Chennai. On arrival meeting assistance at airport by our local representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15: Chennai / Departure

Morning breakfast at hotel. Rest of the day free for leisure activities. In the transfer time airport to board your homebound flight with the happy memory of services.
